Safe Etch Workshop | 10th August 2019

Course Content
Learn and explore the basics of safe etching in this taster session. This is a one day workshop suitable for all levels of experience. You will produce prints from metal (aluminium) plates using copper sulphate, ‘safe etching’.
Follow the processes to –
• Prepare a metal plate using resists to create tone
• Ink the plate ready for printing
• Print through printing press

Tutor-led demonstrations, discussion, video presentation will guide you through the process.

Materials & Equipment
All printmaking tools, materials and equipment will be provided. Please bring your sketchbook, basic drawing materials and any reference material or ideas to work from.

Important Details 
10am - 4pm. Group size is limited to 8 people, to give you plenty of space to work in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. There will be opportunities to ask questions throughout the session. Please arrive for the first session at 09:45 for a cup of tea or coffee and introductions. The workshop will finish 16.00, but please note that times may vary depending on the speed at which you work. Teas and coffees are provided throughout the day, but please bring along a packed lunch (the nearest shop is a five minute drive away).
All classes take place at 2shedstudios, Broughton, Malton, YO17 6QG. Parking is available at the studio
