Ceramic Spoon & Pinch Pot Workshop | Wednesday 11th & 18th September 2019

Create your own ceramic spoon and pinch pot from clay. 

This is a fun and relaxed evening class where you will learn how to produce a spoon/s and pinch/coil pot made from clay in week 1 and then, during week 2, you will pattern and glaze your work ready to go in the kiln. You will learn how to pinch or coil a small pot, use tools and equipment to make small clay items. Perfect to put on the dining table for salt or give to friends and family as a gift. 

What experience do I need?

This is an introduction to using clay. The workshop is aimed at complete beginners, no experience is necessary.

What will I make?

You’ll make at least one, if not two, ceramic spoons and a couple of pinch pots.

Who is my tutor?

Henny Clark studied Surface Pattern Design at CCAD in 2011. She holds an NVQ Teaching Qualification and has delivered, assessed, and verified adult learning programmes in recognised Royal Society of Arts Centres. Primarily a printmaker and textile designer she also works with ceramics and other mixed media.

Do I need to bring anything?

All materials and equipment will be provided, this will include clay, tools and glaze.  

Important Details
18.00 -21.00. Group size is limited to 8 people, to give you plenty of space to work in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. There will be opportunities to ask questions throughout the session. Please arrive for the session at 17:45 for a cup of tea or coffee and introductions. The workshop will finish 21.00, but please note that times may vary depending on the speed at which you work. Teas and coffees are provided throughout the evening. 

All classes take place at 2shedstudios, Broughton, Malton, YO17 6QG. Parking is available at the studio
